Really pleased to be nominated then selected as one of three finalist from a hundred entrants throughout Scotland.
SCOTTISH WOMEN IN BUSINESS
Scottish Woman in Business, known affectionately by all as SWIB, was 25years old and true to form they celebrated in style by adorning The Oran Mor in Glasgow with Swib coloured balloons…. blue, green, pink and grey, and hosted a party.
The first thing I noticed when walking into the room was the enormous sound of excited chatter, background music was quite unnecessary, I wove my way through friendly faces looking for a conversation to edge into whilst sipping fizz and thought what a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
From afternoon tea to video to interviews and finally to music and dance the whole event was a credit to the hard working, dedicated members of the Swib Committee with Laura McKinnon as chairperson
The Awards were compered by Alison Walker, broadcaster, presenter and businesswoman and as I had not been at an awards ceremony before I was feeling quite excited about the outcome.
I didn’t win but felt proud to be selected from such a variety of influential Scottish businesses where woman achieve so much and enjoy the comradery and friendship of being part of SWIB.
